T.M.C. Asser Institute – The Register of Damage for Ukraine: Towards reparation for victims?

May 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ukraine Legal Network invites you to join us at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut for the latest Supranational Criminal Law Lecture: “The Register of Damage for Ukraine: Towards reparation for victims?”

The Register of Damage for Ukraine recently started operations, focusing primarily on the critical category of damage or destruction of residential property. As it expands to include other categories of claims, victims and survivors may have many unanswered questions about practical matters, the Register’s mandate, and how its work relates to other Ukrainian and international justice initiatives.

This Supranational Criminal Law Lecture, which also features our colleague Olesia Zaiets as a panel member, will take stock of the developments surrounding the Register of Damage at this critical stage and tackle pertinent questions regarding a comprehensive approach to addressing the harm suffered by victims.

Speakers:
– Keynote presenter: Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi, Executive Director of the Register of Damage for Ukraine (RD4U)
– Dr. Kushtrim Istrefi, Assistant Professor, Utrecht University
Victoria Kerr, Consultant, T.M.C. Asser Instituut and REDRESS
Olesia Zaiets, Project Officer, Ukraine Legal Network and Board Member, Ukrainian Victims of War
– Moderator: James Patrick Sexton, PhD Researcher, T.M.C. Asser Instituut
