The Hague, 19 June 2024 — Ukraine Legal Network, represented by our Project Officer Olesia Zaiets, participated in a plenary panel discussion on the issue of missing and deported children in Ukraine organised by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).
All participating stakeholders ultimately agreed that the primary priority in the complex effort to return deported children is to address it through a coordinated approach. This challenging task requires the joint efforts of politicians, governments, NGOs, and lawyers, and all efforts must include collaboration and engagement with third parties, including international legal mechanisms.
By engaging with international experts, ULN aims to strengthen Ukraine’s legal response to this humanitarian challenge, and going forward, we remain committed to working closely with our partners, including ICMP, to achieve progress in this field.
